Portland, July 20, (Nepal Oregon News): A community level FIFA World Cup Final Watch Party was organized by Nepa Chhen, a Nepalese nonprofit in Portland, USA on Saturday 19, 2026.
35 people attended the Nepali community watch party at Nekusingh Memorial Theater, Hollywood Taekwondo School, featuring a huge screen for the attendees.
A Nepali style potluck lunch including popcorn and beer were served to the community participants during the watch party.
Spain won the 2026 FIFA World Cup by defeating Argentina 1-0 in extra time. Substitute Ferran Torres scored the game-winning goal in the 106th minute of the match, securing Spain's second World Cup title in their history.
The FIFA World Cup final championship match was organized at MetLife Stadium (designnated as New York New Jersey stadium) in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
For the first time in FIFA tournament history, the final featured a Super Bowl style half time show curated by Chris Martin, featuring star-studded performances from Madonna, Shakira, BTS and Justin Bieber.
Meanwhile, prior to the FIFA match, a board meeting of Nepa Chhen was also held the same day under the chairmanship of its president Daya Shakya.
During the meeting, discussions were zeroed in on Nepa Chhen's bylaws, upcoming events and financial updates.
Additionally, during the Nepa Chhen's meeting, under the membership drive, a new membership of Kritish Rajbhandari, a professor at Reeds College in Portland was also confirmed, while emphasis was furthermore laid on fund-raising.
