Portland, Nov 30 (Nepal Oregon News): Bikram Vaidya, Portland's renowned Nepali chef has won the World's Best Food Tourism Cookbook for his book 'The Mystic Kitchens of Nepal' at the 31st International Gourmand Award held on Saturday, Nov 29, 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This prestigious award for rating food and beverage books around the world is one of the highest considered in the culinary publication sector.
Writers and representatives from around 20 countries had participated at the Riyadh Awards Ceremony.
Vaidya's book provides a comprehensive overview of diverse Nepalese food and culture, underscoring the profound interrelationship between food, rituals and vibrant festivals.
Based on his journey that took 16 years of research, travel and hard work, Vaidya's book reflects on spiritual role of food in fostering healthy lifestyles.
